Thank you to the managers who took part in the Junior league this season. As we approach the all Scottish Grand Final next week I thought I would let you know a bit about next season and which riders will be moving up, overaged or retiring. Also I have a couple of small ideas for next season that won't change things much. So far we have all 16 teams from this season returning for next.
These are the riders who will be moving up and looking for spaces in EL teams next season:
Shayne Oldham - MILTON KEYNES
Allan Cormack - FOXHALL
Luke Dempsey - BLUNSDON
Steven Milne - EAST LONDON
Brad Kirk - RICHMOND
Lamont Bridges - DENHAM
Kieron Thorne - TUNSTALL
Bobby Kitchen - NECRONS
Jamie Pearce - EAST LONDON
Abraham Flint - FOXHALL
Robby Watson - WOLSTON
Jez Mornet - MILTON KEYNES
Sam Ives - KINGS LYNN
Lucas Dean - BLUNSDON
Shane Arnold - KINGS LYNN
Kyle Featherby - TWEEDSIDE
Averages these riders come in on will be worked out by the NSSPA statisticians. One thing to mention is that Seb Woodward was promoted to the Newmarket team in the EL during the season which is why he does not appear on the list.
Overaged riders who will not be allowed to ride in the junior league and may or may not move into the EL are:
Simon Saunders - LEYTON
Danny White - TUNSTALL
The following riders have decided to retire from speedway for various reasons:
Geraint Rowlands - ABERAVON
Ian Farringdon - BOTTESFORD
Tom Clark - ESTUARY
Alec Brocwell - BLUNSDON
Paul Mcgillivray - RICHMOND
Dean Foxcroft - WORKINGTON
Conor May - WOLSTON
My couple of ideas are:
To give every team a number 8 so that we can do away with guest riders. It will mean when injuries occur you will be able to either use Rider Replacement or bring in your number 8. Another reason for a number 8 is that I know some teams had riders who, no matter how much coaching they had, just could not improve. You will also be able to bring in your number 8 to replace the struggling rider and give him/her a rest.
To put your Junior team names on your team page. For instance we have the Warrior Scouts at Wolston and the Baby Bullets at Bottesford. This is just to give them a bit of an identity within your club....if you want to of course. If not they will just stay as junior team. You will need to let me know your name.
My questions to you are did you enjoy the new look of the junior section (as you are all returning I hope yes is the answer!!)? Are you happy with my couple of new ideas? If anyone has any other thoughts please feel free to let me know as I am always open to suggestions. I will say though I don't really want to change the format or introduce tactical substitutes. Other than that fire away.
