RACERS 2016 PL Team Announcement
" I would like to welcome everyone here today and thank you for your interest in the Racers. This year will see us move up into the PL. We had a good year last season and our aim is to progress from there. We made some mistakes at the start of the year but came strong at the end, we need to cut out the silly mistakes this season and Martin and myself will be working non stop to achieve this.
I would firstly like to thank all our the riders who represented the Racers last season, but times change and with the jump into the PL we had to look at changes to the team. I'm pleased to announce 4 returning riders to the squad for this season they are :
Brad Bouchard:
Firstly I wish to welcome back young Brad. He needs to introduction, a rider who won the AL with us in 2014, before a stint at Iwade in a year which saw him crowned British U18 champion. Brad improved his average last year, and will be a strong reserve for us in the PL.
Warren Murray:
Our second rider to return is Warren Murray. Warren has been with us since 2014 when we were in the PL, a loyal rider who came alive in the second half of last season, one of the key reasons Martin and I decided to offer him a contract for this season.
Dalibor Buri:
Dalibor is a rider who I stumbled across whilst on International Duty, I signed him in 2014 after watching him for East Europe and still have no regrets. Buri still grows as a rider and although was subject to more than one enquiry about his availability for this season he remained keen as ever to race for the club that brought him to the UK. Dalibor has a proven record in the PL and he knows this year could be a big year for him.
Antoni Bialczak:
The last rider returning is last years number 1. The current EL riders champion and twice UL KO Cup winner. Antoni again is extremely capable at this level and is very well placed to up his average this season.
We now welcome 3 riders to join the Racers I'm pleased to announce that all 3 were extremely keen to join which made the contract discussions a good affair for all involved.
Lance Allen:
Lance joins on a full transfer from Chantry. Lance has a good year in the PL last year and with his low average will bring PL experience to the reserve pairing of Brad and himself.
Pat Landis:
Pat joins from Glastonbury after wining the league last season. Pat also finished 3rd in last seasons PL riders championship. Pats experience will no doubt be a huge factor to the team and I know a lot of fans are looking forward to watching him ride at the Simplicity.
Rado Kornacki
Now, I don't know where to start, firstly a huge rider for the Racers. A rider who rode for us between 2007 & 2009, a time where not only did he become World Champion, he won the UL with the Racers, the UL KO Cup with the Racers, became UL Riders champion with the Racers & became European champion all whilst riding with us at Rye. So I would like to welcome our new captain and number 1 for 2016. Rado has a lot of knowledge of our track, keeping a 9.00 average in the UL whilst riding with us certainly shows that.
I would like to thank you all for coming again, news on the teams preparation and P & P will follow in the coming week.
