Manager Mark Evans has retained 4 riders from last seasons successful team and added 3 astute signings to make Hull Angels favorites for promotion next season with team sponsors Viking Poker.
1 Greg Woodcroft 8.90. 25 year old Greg has been snapped up in the transfer window as a free agent to be the new No 1. He has already had a full morning practicing on his new track and reported he loves the racing lines which will suit his all action style. After watching a few laps, Evans said "Greg reminds me a lot of Kelly Moran the Hull fans will love him"
2 Tommy Davey 5.46. 16 year old Tommy was an absolute sensation last season at reserve as a 15 year novice. He will find it much harder in this league and as a second string but with continued coaching he is expected to hold his own and learn from riding alongside Greg. Big things are predicted for Tommy's future by Captain Derek Landels.
3 Brage Moller-Bech 6.98. It was widely accepted 20 year old Brage would move up to the Evolution League this season after a brilliant debut season. Luckily for Hull he can stay at Priory Park and develop further with the Angels this season.
4 Derek Landels Capt 6.10 Experienced 30 year old Derek retains the Captaincy from last season and he is thrilled to lead the Angels this season. He has been asked to look after the younger riders especially Tommy and Steve
5 Kalle Mikkelsen 8.66. 23 year old Kalle was snapped up from Kings Lynn when Shane Rumsey was recalled by Rob Golsby in the close season. The Swede will be the second heat leader and will make a great pairing with Greg in the all important Heat 15.
6 Matt Kay 5.00 22 year old Matt showed a lot of promise when signed mid season last year. He settled in well in the difficult No 4 jacket. He is relishing the drop to reserve and aims to push young Tommy all the way for the No 2 slot this season.
7 Steve Beckett 3.70. 18 year old Steve is unknown to Evans who has taken a bit of a punt on him. He said " We had 3.90 left to finalise the team and Steve's average fitted in nicely.
I have thrown down the challenge to Steve to prove I made the right gamble" He will have his machinery looked after by top mechanic Ivor Westlake. Steve has bought 2 new bikes and 3 engines for the new season.
