From now on in the Cowboys go for broke, with nothing to lose and welcoming back our number one Jesper Risager after injury coach Kevin Burton is up for the challenges ahead.
Things just shouldn't be this bad, we have a GP racer Carl 'golden oldie' Hooper and no less than three U/21 Finalists in Wynton Te-Huna, Sorin Draghu and Eric Bjork in our ranks.
As a club we are hanging on to our life blood as rumours going around say we are going out of business pretty soon as the stadium owners have plans for a nice new housing estate.
Fred and Kevin have embedded a master plan in our riders and fans who I am sure will be up for whats to come on and off the track.
This week we travel to the Lair to race the Terriors and their upbeat promoter Steve 'Vog' Donaldson, in what is going to be a very interesting match up as both teams are at the bottom of the league in 9th and 10th places.

Kevin Burton heaped praise on Risager's guest replacement Boris Dvoynev, Burton stated "Boris was a real gem a treat to manage in his time with us, his attitude showed exemplary leadership and he took to the no1 race jacket with vigor.
Burton continued "he would be welcomed back here anytime, his bikes were spot on, even bringing over his spanner men for his time with us, through an interpreter Boris was keen to put his side "I hope I gave enjoyment to the fans and proved I am keen to succeed in this sport, the management here have been superb, I look forward to the time when I can race in the Sim leagues, the quality surprised me, the tracks are well kept, the stadiums better than in Europe, the fans are so passionate, the riders hard but fair, I am keen to come back soon, I will be eying the Cowboys results for the rest of the season, GO COWBOYS GO!!!!!"

Just when things looked to be improving with Jesper (Risager) back from injury do we have another catastrophe, this week Jamie Morton was carried from the track and has lost the next 7 weeks with abdominal injuries.
Kevin and Fred both feel it would be harsh on Jamie to be ready for any end of season activity and have given him the rest of the season off.
The result was a good one as we held Tunstall to an aggregate draw only to lose out on aggregate in the race off.
With the injury to Jamie its a quick return for Jacob Carlsson he comes in for our home meet again league leaders Owlerton Owls.

Our lowest point to date, losing at home to a team who some claim to be champions elect was really upsetting for coach Kev Burton and Fred Taylor.
Take nothing away from the Owls they have a great team ethic and are performing at the highest levels week in week out.
Kev gave this verdict:
Risager - only just back struggled. We will spend time this week to get him back racing. Te-Huna - will be back at reserve next week (after our recent signings, which will be announced later) Draghu - still learning loves Sim tracks HOOPER - Back to No 1 Carlsson - Dropped after a nightmare return, a last place, retirement and a fall and out for two weeks Bjork - Wow! impressive performance by the quiet man
As we go into the last 6 meeting Fred and Kev got their heads together and will shortly announce two new signings to strengthen us to the seasons end.

News filtered down Macauley Road that an announcement was imminent, those tell tale puffs of smoke from the pit area proving their is a cold engine just starting up, well in fact it was two bike warming up.
Fred had called in old pal Dirk Slider the top speedway reporter to take up the mike for the introductions, there were around 130 fans here tonight.
As the name of Fredrik Andersen boomed out across the openness of the stadium, their were cheers, shrieks and a lot of applause as the realisation that the Cowboys have another class act on the track,Fredrik comes in for Aberavon loanee Ales Fortes, we wolud like to thank Ales for his short time here. But with Fredrik available it was a no brainer.
Then to signing number two a new name on Sim tracks we welcome young Finnish sensation Yrjo Eskelinen bringing in Yrjo to replace the injured Jacob Carlsson a real fans favourite, but it does look likely his season is over.
So with 6 meetings to go are the Cowboys going for the juglar.

Excitement is growing around Ipswich as we are just days away from the new line up hitting the shale.
With Tony Simmons now a regular visitor to Macauley Road the word on the street is that he may be returning to his old haunt, he has been in lengthy talks with the current incumbents, so its a case of watch the Cowboys GO GO GO and this space for any news on the TONY.

Cowboys halt the Lions Roar.
18/04/2015 at MACAULAY ROAD - ATTENDANCE 1730 SIM SPEEDWAY 2014/15 - ULTIMATE LEAGUE
With no outstanding efforts the Cowboys put in a more solid performance here tonight.
The big kid on the block Hayden Wood didn't see the chequered flag until his 4th outing as Hooper, Risager and the unlikely pairing of Bjork and Eskelinen pushed him back to third place, first bend bunching after a missed gate saw Wood struggling to find drive. But he certainly found his way around the track with 3 fine victories in his last 3 heats. David Bedford made a welcomed return to East Anglia after many years at Whitehouse.
Although Risager top scored it was the form of Bjork that opened the fans eyes, both Andersen and Hooper did work hard but both missed out in their last races as they trailed in last.
A good win but not enough to nick the BP.

TIGERS FEAST ON COWBOYS FAILING
25/04/2015 at BOWMOUNT PARK - ATTENDANCE 1711 SIM SPEEDWAY 2014/15 - ULTIMATE LEAGUE
A winning piece of tactical genius saw Derek Purvis fired up Tigers 1 - 2 Ambrose and Biejerholm encourage their team to victory.
The Tigers looked solid if not outstanding, but were too strong for the revitalised Cowboys.
Only veteran Carl Hooper reached double figures as both Risager and Andersen pushed hard for their points.
With only 13 points from the undercard and Bjork only scoring 2 after running in some useful points of late, the loss of both the meeting and the bP were hard to swallow as Taylor was back on an old stomping ground, Taylor was more distressed that the eye candy of 30+ years ago were now grannies and many looking so.
Time waits for no man (or woman, looking at this lot).
Onward and downwards as the PL is looming........

As we take on my auld enemy from North of the border in week 23, the Robert Elliot / Jinky Baxter partnership who lead Midlothian Panthers to the track for the very last time (Big things are about to happen), this night will be tinged with sadness as Fred moves aside to let Tony Simmons back into his beloved Cowboys, Tony took time out as he committed to other things, now though he is back with real passion.
As for the Cowboys they will be relegated to the PL after Fred turned around the hapless Cowboys making them somewhat a force by the seasons end, unearthing some new talent and reinventing some old, its been an eventful season so to go out on a win to hand back to Tony is what Taylor is ordering.
As for Robert's future its for him to tell SimWorld all about it.
So GO COWBOYS GO!!!!!!!

There were tears as the curtain went down on another season, one being a last goodbye from Fred to the Suffolk faithful in a centre green hug and handshake Fred handed the keys back to Tony Simmons, leaving the Cowboys with a bigger squad than he inherited, the second tearful moment was seeing Robert Elliot and Jinky in a huddle of Jocks who had made the long trip down, whilst the Lomonds is being transformed into Pine Ridge with a Native American feel to it.
As the door closes on the Panthers, sure Robert and Jinky will have some real surprises up their sleeves and for sure wish them well in their new venture.
The victory was a fitting end to Taylor's reign at the Cowboys, but the loss knocked the Panthers out of contention and handed Aberavon a first Ul title, well done John.
A Final goodbye from Macauley Road for Fred as he wished Tony and the Cowboys every success in the future.
