A solid performance away to Teesside meant the Kings only lost narrowly and picked up another point ensuring the determined Transporters remain a point behind Wantage. It also means the Kings hold onto top spot for at least another week.
With Nils Olsen and Uwe Asche gaining confidence each week the Kings are starting to return to form, giving the top 3 the support they need. And with Matt Le Saux returning from injury next week the Kings will be back up to full strength.
Manager Craig Richardson was left in no doubt what he wants from his team.
"We have 2 matches left and we're very happy to pick up a point here. We hoped for all 3 but the 1 keeps us top of the table.
Now it's up to us. We have Whitby at home next week and Blunsdon and Teesside meet each other. So if we win, we will automatically pick up the bonus and we're guaranteed promotion. But before anyone gets carried away Whitby have already won at our place in the cup and are a top side.
We need the fans with us - we need everyone who's ever thought about coming to come along - so bring a friend. Bring your family. Bring your friends family and their friends. Ask The weirdo who talks to you on the street, and just anybody you bump into who's got a spare £10 on them. The support will spur us on.
I've said to the lads - this is it- don't let the unthinkable happen. Leave no stone unturned in preparation and leave nothing in the pits when you go out onto the track. This is your chance to make history for the club. Don't have any regrets."
So there you have it - a week which may decide Wantage's destiny.
