Teesside boss Graeme Bailey has confirmed the final line-up for this year's Ironopolis and revealed that talks were underway for a new rider to come in for The Transporters.
Bailey revealed that Power League starlet Ludek Janicek from Newmark Raiders will be making his return after making his debut in the Ironopolis last season, He will be joined by Aberavon star Scott Bridges and the Gems' transfer listed German Otto Juttke.
He said: "I am delighted that Janicek is coming to ride, he is a great talent which we saw last year, and I imagine most UL managers are keeping tabs on him. And Bridgers and Juttke are both top notch performers, we are delighted to have finalised the field which we again think is a great mix of top talent from throughout the leagues and from abroad.
The final field is:
Hans E Bergestol TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS
Olle Bjorn Thoresen TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS
Braxton McChesney TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS
Eugene Burkes TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS
Jack Hagen TEESSIDE TRANSPORTERS
Sven Svensson WHITBY VAMPIRES
Roberto Asanovic WHITBY VAMPIRES
Nikita Fedorenko MOSCOW MOTHS
Rudi Juritzen OSLO OWLS
Carsten Ostenstad OSLO OWLS
Henning Nielsen COPENHAGEN COBRAS
Nick Ambrose CANVEY ISLAND CASTAWAYS
Giles Hill DURHAM SPEED DEMON
Scott Bridges ABERAVON GEMS
Otto Juttke ABERAVON GEMS
Ludek Janicek NEWMARKET RAIDERS
The four seeds for the Ironopolis will be; Bergestol, Bridges, Thoresen and Ambrose
Meanwhile, Teesside boss Graeme Bailey confirmed the club were actively looking to replace Tobias Burestad after another disappointing showing at Milton Keynes which saw another 0.
"This can't carry on, Tobias is clearly a bit disinterested and we can't have that. We have put a transfer to the NSSPA, which we hope will get the green ligjt and that can be confirmed this week. Teesside demands nothing if not commitment and the proposed rider we have coming in, would give us just that."
Finally, one shock name in the Ironopolis line-up is Teesside's own 17-year-old Giles Hill, who has added nearly three points to his average this season in the fourth tier at local side Durham.
Teesside forums have been full of fans asking why Hill could not be drafted in, but Bailey would not be drawn on that, cryptically saying: "Sometimes what you read on forums is pure fantasy...sometimes it isnt, in this case - I am not commenting."
