Fresh from being maybe a little too vocal regarding another team's business, Cats promoter Sean Wood was equally vocal when approached by the MK Citizen for comment;
"Perhaps I went a little too far, but I stand by everything I said, I don't generally comment on another team's business unless they're Tunstall or Wednesfield, Canvey at a push, but I stand by what I said, there's throwing a young asset in at the deep end, and then there's doing that when it's the shark infested Ultimate League, it could have ruined the poor kid's career, i'm glad the move was halted."
The Teesside promoter had a few words to say about the Cats boss, and suggested, in a thinly veiled barb at the current UL leaders, declaring "Yes made (sic) contact, but it soon became apparent we could not actually fit him in, but for this to become public is thoroughly unprofessional on every level - to confirm Teesside will not be doing business with any promotion that reveals private talks in such a manner."
"Yeah, I saw that, if he feels that way then that's fine, i'm not too fussed either way. I turned 30 a few months ago and i've learned you can't get on with everyone, not everyone is going to like you, so why worry? They once loaned Sergei Malenkov from us, and then dropped him after 6 meetings, and I'm pretty sure that's the extent of the business we've ever concluded. I think we'll be alright going forward. Perhaps this will give the KO Cup semi finals some added spice in a few weeks!"
"I would like to take the opportunity though to sincerely congratulate them on their Fours title, going into the final race 2 clear with the World Champion in Liam Reay, unbeaten on the night, I don't think many would have bet against us taking the title but Liam finished a disconsolate last, and Maciej was beaten in the runoff by McChesney and Czaja leaving us with the bronze medal."
"Liam was gutted but I can't blame him, or any of them, they did everything I asked and got enough points to win, unfortunately so did two other sides! We'll get up and carry on, and this week brings a visit to perennial foes Wednesfield."
