Wednesfield Wanderers sponsored by Welding Services can report a real mixed as they started the 2nd half of the season with a fantastic away win at Whitby which earned a bonus point as well as a 2 point win on the night. This moved the Kingo boys up to 7th, but out of the 10 meetings ridden, 6 have been away, which fills manager Steve Morgan with optimism with 8 meetings remaining. He added, " the win at Whitby can be a season changer for us. The heat leaders were solid and in reserve Henk scored a great 9 points. Martin Shaw had suffered a poor start to the season and this was reflective in the GP series, but his 11 points at Whitby was like the Martin of old. We hope the new engine purchased will keep him in the points....." Prior to the away win, Wednesfield had suffered an away loss at Lanarkshire by 8, and had a home win over MK Cats by the same margin, 8 points. 8 seemed to be the popular loss number as it was that difference away at Kings Lynn. Morgan said, " There was the temptation to make changes to the team when the opportunity arose, but we decided to keep the faith with the boys we had..... A mid table finish will satisfy me and the fans in our first UL season....."
