For the first time since the very first week of the season, the cats do not top the ultimate league. "It was something we saw coming in all honesty, and it's not through mistakes we've made, but a few weeks ago we were quite aware of just how well Lanarkshire were doing, and they were close to us in spite of having had more away meetings than home, and now they've evened up the home and away split, they've taken the top spot in the league from us."
"We're set for a phenomenally exciting run-in. Week 19 we host Lanarkshire themselves hunting down two points plus the third available for usurping their 4 point aggregate advantage, and in the final two weeks of the league campaign Lanarkshire and the Cats both face the same teams, with the cats hosting wednesfield in week 21, whom Lanarkshire visit in week 23, and Lanarkshire hosting Whitby, who we travel to in the final fixture."
"This thing is going to go down to the wire and swing to and fro in the mean time!"
Sandwiched between the two final league fixtures in the small matter of a Knockout Cup Final too, with Wantage providing the opposition.
Before we get to all that though, week 15 saw new averages released, which will see Steve Edgar dropping down to reserve for the rest of the season. Unfortunately he won't be able to line up there for a few weeks though, as Steve was injured in heat 7, and he'll miss 3 weeks through a cracked shoulder blade. "It was gutting to lose Steve this week, we were ahead until his injury and subsequent withdrawal, and we were still ahead after heat 11, but it was just too much for the final 6 to manage around the Kings Lynn track, and the home side seized their opportunity to take the win."
"We'll be searching high and low for guests to replace Steve for the visit of the gems, and the trip to the lair. We have a few options. One thing we're certain of is we want this title, we're the underdogs in this race in our debut season. Has a side won the league in their debut UL season? we don't know but we're going to do everything in our power to make it happen!"
