In what can be considered a bit of an upset, Henrik Hansen is the Ultimate League Riders Champion.
"I'm delighted!" said an obviously elated Henrik. "I know that my form hasn't been as good as I wanted it to at times this season, but I know I have been improving, and leading the team from the front every week. Having Oleg there as well has been a real help, but it all came together for me today, and I get to bring the trophy home to Tunstall.
I just want to say thank you to the fans who made the journey. They were incredible, and really helped me to keep pushing. Going into the last race, I knew that I just had to beat Scott (Bridges) to win, and while Olle (B Thoresen) made a lightning gate, I managed to get across Scott and just get away from him. I rode a sensible race and got to stand atop the rostrum!
Now, while this is a fantastic individual achievement for me, this isn't where this ends. We are in with a shout of the title, and I want to bring it back for the fans. We will give everything, and I just hope that we do them proud"
In the same meeting, Oleg Yelesnev scored 10 points, and was left to rue a first heat last place.
"That first race was awful, but after that, I knew I was fast. I just needed to not finish last in that first race. As it is, I am glad that Henrik could bring the trophy home, as he has been fantastic all season, and as he said, now we focus on the title. Second place doesn't interest me"
