Burslem have been handed a lifeline in their race for promotion, having being told that there is a very good chance that 4 teams will be promoted from the Academy League this season.
"Honestly, it's a massive boost. We initially thought that we would have to win and hope for a few results to go our way, but this extra promotion place means that we have every chance of winning promotion.
I want the lads to know what is at stake. Burslem have never been above the Academy league, but it is time for us to progress. Our focus hasn't always been on being the top team that we can be, but since we have added seperate management from the Terriors, we have had a new focus. I believe that our finances are good, and that our team has a solid enough foundation to progress through the leagues.
We have every chance. Now it is up to the lads to prove to the fans that they want to win"

What is needed for the Braves
So, for the Braves to finish in the top 3, and win promotion, the following needs to happen:
Burslem beat Harlow - This is an obvious one. If Burslem don't win, there is no chance of gaining promotion.
Cleator Moor lose by 13 at Downham - This is unlikely. Downham sit next to bottom after a poor season, and Cleator are a relatively strong team.
Southside lose at Bottlesford - This could happen. Just about.
Honestly, barring a miracle, I expect Burslem to finish 4th, but the lads know that they have everything to race for, because stranger things have happened.
Rumours of a large bag of money being given to Cleator for them to throw the meeting are wildly inaccurate.
