A bog crowd is expected at The Glaven Arena for our last meeting of the season against Canvey Island. With the destination of the UL title still within our grasp will we be able to win by more than 10 points to take all the points on offer? If we can then all we can do is sit back and wait for the results of the matches involving Milton Keynes and Lanarkshire to see who will be Champions. The Cats are probably slight favourites because of their one point advantage over us and the Lions. However both the other teams are away so maybe that puts us in pole position.
I am very confident we can take the three points as all the riders are riding really well at the moment and are all up for a big performance. We have managed to get through the season with no team changes which has been different to recent seasons for us. All the riders have been an absolute pleasure to work with this season and I hope we can fit most of them in next season. Obviously averages will determine if we can but it will be sad if we have to lose any of this team. Whatever happens in this final match I am proud of the lads and know they will give it their all.......and for one night we will all become Whitby and Wednesfield fans!!

Two of our assets have had an excellent couple of weeks. David Bedford rode superbly after receiving a well deserved wild card for the GP Challenge semi-final and stormed into a qualifying position. He now looks forward to the GP Challenge and we wish him all the very best in his effort to make the GP series.
Ray France had a brilliant night in the British U18 Final becoming champion with a fine 14 points. He has matured into a top young talent and has been very well looked after at Charlemont for the past two seasons. He is certainly a Lightning rider of the future and surely a future England rider.
