Charlemont Chargers have secured their second promotion in as many seasons after a deserved 45-45 draw away from home against Hulls Angels. The Pride knew that a draw was enough to see them beat the Angel is the league challenge and then had to rely on other results to ensure promotion.
In a sensational match that didn't start the best for Charlemont, the score flickered between Hull getting 5-1s and the Chargers recovering not the points with consecutive 4-2s. The away side did take the lead with 5 heats to go and held the lead till heat 14 where it was level.
The final heat decider meant a heat advantage or a 3-3 would seal promotion to the second teir of Sim a Speedway. The Chargers secured a 3-3 in a nervey heat where they let Kalle Mikkelsen storm away whilst team riding to get the draw. The away fan went crazy when the result was confirmed and the bumps were given to team manager Steven Hunt.
