The latest new face to be confirmed for the cats is that of Dutchman Abe Zevenbergen. Somewhat a stranger to these shores, but a rider with bags of talent and ability, alongside no shortage of experience from the continent. Last season he managed an 8 point average in an underperforming Amsterdam side, a higher average than names such as Sandin, Te-Huna, Black, and Risager.
He was given a single full meeting in this season's World Team Cup to date, where he delivered a score of paid 16, including a win over Bergestol, and top scored for the side in the Test Match against Finland & Norway, the top scorer on show in the entire meeting, but other than his 2 reserve rides against Australia that's all the opportunity he's been afforded. We think he's a better rider that the national boss realises, so we've moved quickly to bring him into the Cats fold. He'll be a linchpin in the middle order of our side, and we can't wait for the fans to see what he can do.
