well as the season starts to draw to a close the Castaways still have two very important home meetings left this is the first of the two and was this tight although we had the meeting won by heat 14 the Knights made us fight all the way and never give up we won the meeting but lost the bonus riders worth a mention for Canvey Rhodri was a flying machine but reared at the start in heat 15 and battled hard but could found no way through and the 18 year old Dale Hawkins had another blinder does not stop battling a fantastic rider to have.
For the Knights Alex van Maurik and rider we tried to sign at the start of the season looked very sharp and the brilliant Michael Smith whom i kmow as he rides for me in the England U21 squad anyway thats enough being nice to the knights at the end of the day the mighty Castaways won and the knights sneaked off with the bonus.
1. Des Dixon................. 0 3 3 2 2 - 10 = Des started off with a last but then was back to his best although he lost his last two rides against Michael Smith they were worth the entrance many alone.
2. Greg Teale................ 1 0 1* 1 - - 3+1 = Greg is still struggling but it is not for the want of trying.
3. Rhodri Szczygiel.......... 3 3 3 3 0 - 12 = this was superb from Rhodri he looked unstoppable until the blip in his last heat.
4. Jesse DeVeau.............. 0 1 0 3 - - 4 = pretty poor from Jesse this week but finished with a heat win we need him to be on top form this week so needs to do a great deal better.
5. Jaz Tank.................. 2 2 3 0 - - 7 = a well Taken tally from Jaz in this one i honestly believe he will be a big star in the years to come but must get more consistant
6. Charlie Noone............. F 0 1 - - - 1 = no won could have tried harder for such a small return
7. Dale Hawkins.............. 3 1* 2 2* 1 - 9+2 = Another great return from Dale who over the last couple of weeks has been outstanding and his confidance is sky high at the moment.
Ok thats that finished with just would like to say that i am honoured to yet again be chosen to lead the England U21 Squad again this season hopefully we can go one better then last year and win it this time.
And it's now on to the final week of the season and it is Squeaky bum time for the Castaways first of all we have the exciting league meeting between Iwade and thornaby i dont think the spitfires will get the bonus but if they can manage to beat Thornaby and restrict them to just the bonus we then need to beat Falmouth at home by over 4 points to grab all three points and the league title but either way there is sure to be a big crowd at wilkinson field this week so your best get there early to see the fastest and the coolest team in the NSSPA the Canvey Island Castaways.
A very Excited at the moment anyway Canvey Island promotor.
