The Kings cup defence is finally over. It was run-off agony against the team of the moment Wednesfield. It was 46-44 in both legs before Henk Knapke won it for the Wanderers, getting the better of Wilbur Stanyk when it mattered.
Kings boss Craig Richardson congratulated Wednesfield after another week of disappointment. "Congratulations to them, they're absolutely flying at the moment and are certainly the team to beat. We ran them close, and it was pleasing to match them over 2 legs. They've certainly unearthed a gem in Fekete and he has completely changed their fortunes. We'll take confidence from this though - it's the best we've been for a while. Hopefully the new boys will kick start our season. Wilbur really looked the part and hopefully will really build on this."
