Jukka Gustafsson Seeks Redemption
Finnish start Jukka Gustafsson has pledged his future to the Chargers after the 26 year old made a u-turn in his decision regarding his future. The Pride were keen to keep Gustafsson on the books at the All Saints Stadium but were open to the idea of letting him go on loan to ride in a higher league.
It has come as a surprise to fans with Jukka having a 9.31 average and the rest of the team already looking top heavy. The Chargers will now be looking for some low average reserves with only 12.11 to find three riders to complete the septet. Its a different tactic by the looks of team building with the Chargers manager Steven Hunt going top heavy and getting big points at the top end of the team and hoping he can find some young talent who can blossom and raise their averages in the opening months of the season.
Manager Steven Hunt Comments
'We have a great number one now in Jukka, and then the other lads being high 8 averages we hope to do the damage in the meetings from the top end of the team. Jukka could have been picked up easily for a top tier team but he has pledged his future to us and we hope he can claim redemption and lead us back to the league where he joined us.'
'We are now looking for a 3.00 reserve to come in, its a tricky choice to take such an inexperienced rider but if we can get another young lad on our books we will provide everything he needs to take his career to the next level. We have had success with Craig here and we hope to do the same with whoever we bring in this coming season. As Ive said before, we want to to turn this club into an talent school and make it a great place to bring in youth and bring them through into our sides of the future.'
