Double Signings From The Spitfires Arrive
Charlemont Chargers have completed a double deal with Iwade Spitfires for the signing of signatures for both Ashley Wakerley and Scott Calder. Wakerley signs on loan for the coming season to help in his development through his early career, he starts on a 3.00 average and will hopefully show enough talent to booster his average and the chargers reserve line-up throughout the year. Scott Calder signs on a full transfer and looks to take a position in the main body of the team with his 4.63 average. The side is looking strong at the top end with a youth lineup at the other end its going to take a lot of development to make sure the big hitters in the side are backed up.
Six out of the seven are now lined up and the Chargers are now looking for a rider with around a 4.50 average for the final rider. Roumurs around the All Saints looks like they will be moving for a rider with experience to back up the young tail end and hopefully will make a statement of intent with this strong looking sign for the coming season.
Manager Steven Hunt Comments
'We are delighted to get these done quickly and we will have our side complete in the opening week of transfer window. We have gone for these two guys to bring in some strong low average riders who we believe have an average that is not 100% true to how good they are.'
'Young Wakerley is going to be good to watch, he has a style on the bike that looks effortless and is now consistently performing well through last year an the JJ. He needs support but we have some of the best riders in this league in our top order and we will provide everything he needs to succeed here at The All Saints.'
'Scotty is now an asset at its a great addition, we hope he can push on this year to get his average up so hes pushing for a heat leader position. The guys above him are very strong and hopefully he can learn and push himself on towards being a rider that the top leagues want in the future. We want him to be in a top league with us and hopefully we can get back to where we believe we belong.'
