The Speed Demons are back for a 3rd season and ready to challenge for promotion. After a solid season in the EL last year the basis is there for another push for promotion.
Adam Bridgett leads the line, a rider who has come on in leaps and bounds in his 2 years at the Cathedral. Riding at 1 will be tough, but Adam has the potenatial to go a long way in the sport.
Radoslav Kares returns after a very successful entrance into UK speedway and will be looking to build on his first season.
John Stroud is another returnee who performed above expectations last year and will be looking to make strides this season.
John Honey comes into the side after a successful stint with Southside last year. He comes into more civilised territory this year and starting at reserve could be a real boost for the Speed Demons.
Neil Johnston & Colin Adlington come into the side to bring top order strengths and bags of experience - filling the gap left by Viv Thompson and Martin Payne who have moved on to pastures new. Payne returns to Sheffield and gets a crack at the UL, thoroughly deserved for a rider who had performed magnificently in DSD colours.
The final place is taken by Maxie North, a rider yet to fulfil his potential. He arrives keen and well prepared and hopefully will be able to score some valuable points this year.
Pre season has thrown up a mixed bag as always, but is all about giving the riders track time. Now the formalities are over we can move onto the real racing.
