An excellent start to the season for Kings Lynn saw us take a slender 2 point win at Wantage. Heading into the final heat all square our top 2 raced to a 4-2 heat advantage to give us victory. Tibor Nemecek looked superb all night finishing with a fantastic 15 point maximum and he was well backed by our skipper David Bedford.
We were 10 points behind after heat 8 but Bedford came in as a tactical substitute to partner Nemecek in heat 9 to gain a 5-1 which was followed by another in the very next heat by Carsten Ostenstad and Ray France. Nemecek and Bedford then raced to another 5-1 in heat 13 before the Kings hit back in heat 14 with a heat advantage of their own. Luckily our GP riders did the business in the final heat to grab us the win.
It was a real team effort but I must give credit to Ray France for an exceptional UL debut scoring paid 9. Credit also to Wantage for a superb match on a well prepared track. There was plenty of overtaking and more than one line to race on. They can count themselves unlucky when Filippe Chong failed to get off the start line in heat 15. I am sure they will bounce back in the coming weeks.
