We took our time but we are back, the Estuary Whales will be involved in the new concept which is the Evolution League.
Thankfully the Megano has been used a few times in season for some prestigious meetings so the cobwebs don't need much blowing off.
As we plan for the future we are going in blind like many other clubs, from where we sit though the last years intake (AL clubs) fully deserve their elevation to this new area of our sport.
We understand the the Whales bosses Taylor and Templeton (yes Wayne is back as coach this time around), have already put out feelers for ex Megano racers and as usual a new talent from overseas.
We will spend the next couple of weeks getting the track raceable again and a coat of paint on the stadium furniture.
The fans are already buying into us coming back and early indications show we still have a good following.
What intrigues us is the new method of CMA exchanges between leagues, at first glance it looks an easier transition between leagues, we know to start it will look a bit different to the norm, but once we move into the season things should look a little more normal by the first GSA changes, we hope (fingers crossed).
For now though we will ensure a big Thameside welcome to all the visitors to the Megano, perhaps not such a warm welcome for those couple of old 'buggars' from 'Old Reekie' the car park will look good with all those teepees and wigwams spread around, a native American feel to speedway and not a Yank in sight!
Thats all for now.
