Wednesfield got off to a defeat in their first meet of the season losing heavily at MK Cats. It was poor all round with only 3 heat wins all night, and Nikita Federenko getting injured in his first heat putting him out the meeting and the next 2 at home. Fortunes improved with a 10 point win at home to Tilbury. Sven Svenson was a fantastic guest scoring a 15 point maximum, but the rest of the team, although scoring ok, no one else got into double points. Then it happened. Something that had not happened in a competitive league meeting at the Kingo, in all the divisions and years riding there. A home league defeat. Losing by 4 to Teeside. Manager Steve Morgan added, "I'm drawing a line in the sand. This is not acceptable. Changes need to be made sooner rather than later.... I'm planning on bringing in Jakub Fekete who was amazing for us last season. He has started the season off like a house on fire in Euro 1..... I know my other "in" rider, and my 2 "outs" but they will be revealed shortly......"
