LANARKSHIRE LIONS 45
1. Hayden Wood............... 3 1 3 1 1 - 9
2. Hannes Ulriksen........... 0 0 0 1 - - 1
3. Leon Jeppesen............. 3 1* 2* 3 3 - 12+2

5. Steen Eriksen............. 3 2 3 F 3 - 11
6. Mads Vestergaard.......... 2 F - - - - 2 (I)
7. Ronnie Flanagan........... 0 1 2 1 0 - 4
A match we were never behind in but never far enough in front to be comfortable. We did manage to go 8 points ahead after heat 8 but the Lions hit straight back with an Eriksen/Jeppesen 5-1. They gradually clawed us back and with a 4-2 in heat 15 made sure they grabbed a share of the spoils. The whole team rode and scored solidly without anyone getting double figures. Tibor Nemecek's retirement in his first heat was cancelled out by Steen Eriksen's fall in heat 13. The biggest factor could well have been Mads Vestergaard's injury and we probably have to concede that Lanarkshire were unlucky to not go away with all the points.
On another matter David Bedford had a superb start in the GP series finishing in second place in round 1. Let's hope he can carry on in that vein and have a crack at the title. Tibor Nemecek found the going tough but now knows what it takes to be a GP rider and will learn from the 1st round.
No match this week due to our annual early exit from the KO Cup but back in league action next week when we go to Falmouth to take on the Falcons.
