The Westwood Eagle Insurance Wizards flung opened the gates of the Thanet Arena this week to introduce their new team to the Press and Public.
The management have taken a more conservative approach with regards team building than some of their illustrious opponents in the Academy League who have gone for a "big-hitter" at Number 1.
The team has been built around the expierience of 35 year old John Hellsen, who spent many seasons in the Power league with Reading Gravediggers. Hellsen stated that he was elated to be offferd an opportunity to ride for a new set-up and was looking forward to passing on his knowledge to the younger members of the team. Scottish born Johnny calder and Linus Cedregren, the 19 year old Swede from Stockholm, will be fighting it out for the Number 1 slot. The Wizards are indebted to Falmouth Falcons after securing the services of Dominic Reeves on loan. Dominic won the Juvenile Jaunt two seasons ago and looks to have alot of promise
Tha remaining three riders, Niall Lowriston, Glen Harrison and Carlos Goody all look like riders who are full of potentiel and as such Westwood will do their utmost to bring this to the fore.
Meanwhile the Westwood have applied for a loan to improve both the condition of the Track and Pits.
