After a very successful behind closed doors apart from the local press and a few invited Vip's practice the Castaways are ready to go here are the starting line up for us.
NO.1 The Axe Man Axel Johannessen Age 23 Norway 7.88 joins us from Milton Keynes for the season sat on the sidelines last year so is out to prove a point a useful performer and looked very sharp in practice looking forward to seeing him race should fit in very well at Canvey as we are cool and Norway is always cool some might even say freezing.
NO.2 Zeljko Lesnik Age 20 Croatian 6.48 Ex Tunstall rider had a good season in there colours with an average of 6.48 had some good scores over the course of the season looking for him to improve on that this year no reason why he shouldn't although a bit wild he has a gritty determination to do well i think the fans are going to love this out and out racer.
NO.3 Rhodri Szczygiel Age 23 6.83 Wales been contracted to Canvey for many seasons now had his best year last year now looking for him to build on what he achieved last season a welsh mum and a polish dad hence the name a big fans favourite at Canvey a quiet and unassuming young man does his talking on the track.
NO.4 Dominic Witoszek Age 24 6.74 Poland started like a steam train last season but couldn't keep up that average but settled in to a class rider super fast never gives up and another rider who is very exciting to watch now need him to step up and again and do it all again in a higher league he is looking forward to the challenge.
No.5 Noah Nicholson Age 19 7.38 England this young lad was top of our shopping list a brilliant talent who i believe could turn out to be one of the best riders in the NSSPA not just in this league well pleased to have landed his signature and hopefully us as a club and Himself will make it into the Ultimate league only time will tell.
NO.6 Mateo Reyes Age 20 5.08 USA A rider who is hoping to make up for lost time as never raced over here last season due mainly to the averages but also as no one come in for him so has a point to prove always well turned out again another rider who looked very good in practice but obviously will have to wait and see when the racing starts but i believe one to look out for over the season.
NO.7 Liam Gilbertson Age 19 4.25 Scotland this was touch and go as we have several riders looking for this team spot but give it to Liam as i believe he showed the most improvement over last season not an overnight sensation but has steadily got better and better and hopefully that will continue over this season.
So thats the Castaways for this season i think this is on average the youngest team we have ever fielded but all are capable of increasing on there averages but again only time will tell but still looks like it's going to be an exciting season for the Canvey Fans and myself also go the Castaways see you round the tracks.
