The 2018 Bullets got off to an inauspicious start to their campaign with 2 losses in 2 days in their pre-season warm up. Team Manager Paul Duff was more than a little disappointed with the openers, albeit against an experienced Teesside outfit at this level.
"I hate losing, more so at home - the away leg was pretty decent 40-50 and a 10 point loss is ok for our ice-breaker but I was very unhappy with the home leg loss.I have invested heavily this term to consolidate our spot in the Ultimate League and I will fight tooth and nail to realise that ambition, my riders will need to display the very same attitude for sure".
The away leg saw some debutants in the red, black and gold
- Ricky Antunovich had a tough start but will surely prove a trump card at No.1 - On the back of a GP series run Ricky will be looking to banging in the points home and away
- Michel Zwyssig had a fine debut at 2 scoring paid 9 from his 4 rides - early promise for sure
- Petr Marko may just have to be nicknamed the postman as he always seems to deliver - As solid a scorer as he is stylish on the bike, he hasn't ever seen the track at Teesside and he just rocked up and laid it on the line - He is desperate to perform and grab that No.1 jacket
- Henrijs Birkerts was another to have a slow start, he has developed so quickly and it is a real surprise when he doesn't score well, on the back of a bad injury last year, Henrijs will surely kick on and rediscover his form
- Enzo Innacone had a fabulous evening and has settled in superbly well - he has GP ambitions and on this form he can get through the door
- Colin Browne has never raced at this level despite his age but for sure has enough nous to get some big points for us - one to watch
- Will Huntsman - Young Will has a steep learning curve ahead of him but has all the talent in the world to get there, a tough opener but he will improve
At home the Bullets went down 42-48 but it's better to get the losses out the way before it really matters
Ricky seemed to like the track and scored well - 11 from 5 with a retirement bodes well
Michel found the grippy surface a little different from Teesside but 4+1 isn't so bad from his 4
Postman Petr did what the talented lad does best and took 11 from his 5
Henrijs rode far better than his points tally of 4+1 suggests
Enzo was solid at 5 for his 7+1 (4) and it's first run out t the Bullet Arena following his late arrival back from Italy
Colin scored tidily with paid 5 and looked at home on our surface
Will grabbed a well earned 2 from his rides and has the skill to adapt
On to the next ones - Up the Bullets
