Wednesfield Wanderers, sponsored by Welding Services, succumbed to another away defeat at the hands of Blunsdon going 49-40 which resulted in them also losing the bonus point by 4 points.
Despite this double set back, Morgan remained in buoyant mood. He said, "Despite only registering 5 heat wins from the 15 heats, I still have plenty of faith in this septet. Johno and Doyley (Neil Johnston and Peter Doyle) showed good form, and Im convinced if we can get Igor and The Skipper firing, we will start smashing some teams. I'm happy with the effort and commitment shown Janne Sarjale, and I was pleased with Goess and Buljat and their application. Points will come for these, hopefully sooner rather than later of we are going to get 2nd place, as we can say Wantage have the title wrapped up for now!"
Ironically, it is Wantage who arrive at the Kingo next, with Morgan adding, "we have a very proud record of being unbeaten a home, stretching back nearly 4 seasons. I don't want to lose that soon, so its the same team for next week."
There will be a reserve change soon, as it emerged Theo Craven was not actually an asset of Falmouth, he was only on loan there. Morgan added, "I take responsibility for the fiasco that this caused. I apologise to Falmouth and also to his parent club Teeside, and in particular the gaffer there Graeme. I wasn't trying anything under-handed, honest!!!!"
So the stage is set for the biggest meeting in Wednesfield's season. A win would see them back in the promotion race, a draw and failure to attain the bonus point, puts the rest of the season in Cup Final modes, with the last word going to Wantage asset, and Wednesfield number 1, Neil Johnston, "bouncebackability!!!!!!!!"
