Teesside Transporters fans have been sent into raptures after the club confirmed that Hans E Bergestol was rejoining following promotion back to the Ultimate League.
Bergestol joins on a full transfer back from Sheffield (formerly Owlerton), who have dropped down from the UL to the new Evo League - the third tier of SIM Speedway. Arlo Evaristo and Janek Bartousek have joined the Dons as part of a deal, which took some time to thrash out.
"Firsty can I say a huge thanks to Andy and James Dixon for their help in finalising the Bergestol deal, yes we had first refusal from when he left us for Owlerton, but without their help and patience this would not have happened, we have had to send Arlo and Jan to them, but we will be keeping an eye on both riders and that too has been built into the deal," said Teesside chief Graeme Bailey.
"We are just so over-joyed to have got Hans back, he wanted to be hear - his favourite track, his home from home - but he insisted to me he wanted a competitive team so we have worked very hard behind the scenes on that too."
Along with Bergestol he is joined by another returning rider in the shape of his Norway-Finland team-mate and World Pairs Champion partner Olle Bjorn Thoresen.
Indeed much of the Teesside team has a familiar look with captain Niko Weckman agreeing terms to ride second-string along with exciting Croatian Roberto Asanovic.
The other returnee is 17-year-old American starlet Jack Hagan, who exploded onto the scene last season and has now made his move from Zagreb permanent.
"It was a no brainer bringing Olle back, same with Niko and Roberto and having Jack is the icing on the cake, especially as he will be starting the campaign at reserve and we felt that was crucial for his debut UL season."
Indeed there is only one new face confirmed so far by Teesside with Swedish international Sven Svensson signing on the dotted line, and coming in on just over 7 he will be the team's third heat-leader.
"Sven at 21 is a huge talent, runner-up in the World Under-21 final, he was always high on my list - I wanted three heat-leaders, and two good second stringers whilst also trying to get Jack at reserve, we have done that and I think the team has a wonderful balane to it."
Bailey confirmed talks are ongoing over the final place. "We have a few options, but price wise we may have to dip into the foreign market again but I want someone who will add something to the team."
