Terriors boss Steve Donaldson is delighted to be able to announce the 7 riders who will represent the Terriors next season
"I've been busy at the World Cup, but I've managed to sort out the 7 riders who will be pulling on the Terriors race jacket next season.
Riding at number 1, returning from last season, will be Henrik Hansen. Prodigious talent, fantastic rider and a fantastic person. He has all the ability to push on to a 9 point average next season.
At number 2, another returning rider, in Enzo Innacone. Enzo came in last season and took a while to settle, but once he did settle he was on fire. The step up to number 2 may be tough, but he is a rider who I know can score well there.
Number 3 will be a new face to the Terriors, and indeed to UK Speedway. Zdenek Drahos is a rider who I saw riding in the u21 championships, and now in the u21 World Cup, and is a rider who has the potential to go far. Will be interesting to see how he adapts.
At number 4, a rider who is new to Tunstall, in Olle Runeberg. Showed a real liking for our track when he came here last season, scoring paid 9 on the way to having a good season for Owlerton. I'm delighted to bring him in as a full asset, as his best days are ahead.
At number 5, another returner, this time in Polish sensation Gabrys Irzyk. He was on fire when he joined us at the back end of last season, and is a major reason why we were able to do so well in the league. Stepping into the number 5 race jacket, but he has the talent to push for number 1.
At 6, another new face in Brandon Delgado. He will be joining on loan for the season, so that we can see if this is a relationship that will work, but he is a talented rider who I enjoy watching ride. Starting at reserve he could be a real trump card.
Finally, at 7, a surprise in Boris Kravchuk. I sat and talked with Boris about where he wanted his career to go, and he talked about wanting to challenge the best. When it became apparent that we would have a space in the team where he could slot in, he jumped at the chance. I'm not expecting him to push to a 6 or 7 average, but I think he can more than hold his own and achieve his average.
So, that is your Terriors septet, who I know are looking forward to introducing themselves to you at the Press and Practice event.
