Week 1
Attendances EL - 982 Rocked up at the Raptors Arena to see a thriller bigger than a Michael Jackson tribute as Harlow beat new boys Birmingham Bournevillians 46-44 in a tight and hugely competitive affair. A last heat decider featuring a Hawks' Kim Knutsson and Julien Comparin 5-1, over the entertaining Darcy Broad and Billy Harrison, overturning the Bournevillains 41-43 lead to see the hosts grab the spoils. PL - 1820 - Arrived at the Aerie Arena as old rivals, Hampden Eagles and Teesside Transporters, renewed their acquaintancies. The Eagles ran out 48 - 42 winners with a solid 1-7 performance with Eugene Burkes in particularly inspired form for the hosts in a meeting they led from start to finish. The South Bank Bullets were 10 clear after 9 heats but their Northern shore counterparts reeled them in close with two 2-4's in the final two heats to see the score finish 47-43 - Big hitters Petr Marko and Enzo Innacone starred for the Bullets, whilst Louis Joosens and Gote Nordvall lived up to their billing for the Angels. Away WinsNo away wins in the opening round of fixtures - though Leeds ran Necrons close to draw 45-45 - The Jags overturned a -6 defecit after Heat 6 to lead by 4 after 12, but a Shane Dwyer, Eddie Mendoza 5-1 for the Necrons over Kenneth Krogh and Zoltan Benko in Heat 13 saw the hosts level things up - shared heats followed to seal the draw.
