Week 3
Attendances
EL - 1275 roamed into Richmond Lane to see the Cheetahs triumph 48-42 over Tweedside Tigers. Young Riley Payne was outstanding from the No.7 reserve berth for Richmond, scoring a magnificent 16+2 from his seven rides, after the hosts had lost fellow reserve George Lomas in his Heat 2 fall.
PL - 1261 darkened the doors at the Dockyard as Teesside pipped Necrons 46-44 in a tight affair. It was close throughout but another Lewie Carr/Hans Benkarth 5-1 in Heat 13 swung it the way of the Transporters and they clung onto the win despite the heroics of Paul Hibbern and Harvey Hedge who cut the defecit to 2 points with a Heat 14 2-4 for the Necrons. A shared final heat saw the match end closely.
UL - 2201 meandered into the Meadows Raceway to see the home side Wolston beat the visiting MK Cats 49-41. Steve Edgar was on fire for the Warriors racking up 17 points from 6 rides, though the Cats were good value around the Meadows.
Away Wins
After 2 blank weeks the away wins poured in this week -
Estuary Whales lost at home to Chantry Crusaders - A solid away performance led by the in-form Jaques Moursin (13) saw the visitors win 44-46
Leeds Jaguars lost to Reading Rebels 43-47 as the Rebels turned a 6 point defecit into a 4 point win, claiming a match winning 1-5 in Heat 15 after the points were locked 42-42 after 14 races. Lee Jessup and Rafal Aranowski the heroes for the away side as they led Kenneth Krogh and Marcus Jay to the chequered flag to seal the deal.
Kings Lynn 43 - Workington 47 - Tibor Nemecek and Ray France scored the bulk of the points for the home side as the Logheads sparked a bit of a shock - Anders Solberg was the man of the match for the Logheads, scoring a fine 11+3 from 5 rides.
Newmarket 42 Hull 48 - Newmarket only got worthwhile returns from Antunovich 13/5 and Irzyk 9/5 and were always struggling to stay in the meeting from heat 5, whilst Hull saw Nordvall 12/5, Tercjak 11+1/5 and Joosens 9/4 do enough to secure the win.
