Week 12
Attendances
EL - 969 Found themselves at the Factory to see the Midlands hosts Birmingham beat the visiting Harlow Hawks 50-39 and also grab the bonus point (94-85) - The meeting was marred by an horrific crash between Birmingham's Darcy Broad and Harlow's Alex Green that saw both of them withdrawn from the meeting, Broad needed extensive treatment at the track and was taken to intensive care, where he remains 'poorly but stable'. He is out of immediate danger and we all wish him well and hope he makes a full recovery.
PL - 11335 Strolled into Smallmead where Reading Rebels beat their visitors from Leyton 48-42. A really good meeting was their reward as both teams gave a good account and put on some fine racing, the Rebels were solid throughout the team, whilst Leyton, who grabbed the bonus point (88-91) had No.1 Ricky Keyse (17 pts from 6 rides) and No.7 Ove Hydling (8 from 4) to thank for their efforts in leading the scoring for the Rockets.
UL - 2430 paraded up to Priory Park to watch the Humber Derby and were treated to a meeting of the highest calibre. Hosts Hull Vikings were in fine form but it was the visiting Bottesford Bullets who proved to be a team that wouldn't be beaten on the night. The South Bank septet raced into an early lead 10-14 but were pegged back and sat 4 points down after 11 hets. In fact it was a Heat 15 1-5 from Enzo Innacone and Jack Hagen that took the away draw point and secured the all important bonus point as the Bullets moved up to 3rd, just behind their Humber rivals.
