Week 16
Attendances
EL - 1145 made it into the Megano where the hosting Estuary Whales narrowly beat the out of sorts Harlow Hawks 46-44 - The Hawks fortunes turned a little as they were able to snatch the Bonus Point (85-95). solid 1-7 showing from Estuary proved just enough in a very close affair as the hales nicked the win, despite the Julian Comparin / Kim Knutsson two pronged offfensive provided by the unlucky visitors, who haven't registered a win since week 5. Bet Fred opened the tinnies after this one
PL - 1341 Barged into the Blunsden Arena, but it was the visiting Necrons fans who went home smiling as they plundered an impressive 40-50 win at the expense of their hosting Bombers.
The Necrons returned to form in style to take a 10 point away win and secure the all important Bonus Point in the process, leaving the hosting fans aquiescent
UL - 2133 rocked to the rousing sounds of the exhaust at the Raiders Dome. Newmarket beat their guests from Wolston by 47-43 (88-92). The win may yet prove vital for the Raiders as they still sit at the bottom of the Ultimate League. Wolston did take the Bonus Point and their top three of Steve Edgar, Jean-Marc Struthers and Carter Fortin were in great form.
Away Wins
Blunsdon 40 Necrons 50 - Eddie Mendoza and Shane Dwyer (Necrons) hit the hosts with two huge maximum heat advantages in Heats 13 & 15 to swing the balance for the Necrons, though they were ably supported by reserve, Bob Lister, who scored 11+2 from 6 rides.
Maximums
Ray France (Kings Lynn Lightening) 15 (5) - proved unbeatable in a convincing 53-37 home win over Lanarkshire Lions
Fillippe Chong (Wantage Kings) 11+1 (4) - took a paid maximum home despite missing out on Heat 5 ride after a 2 minute time out saw him replaced by reserve, Robert Pusey.
Injuries
Jay Patterson (Sheffield Dons) - Severley bruised ankle in a high speed spill - 2 meetings out
Shane Forbes (Chantry Crusaders) - Severe bruising - misses 2 weeks
Mark Powell (Leeds Jaguars) - Bruised his back in a Heat 2 fall, curtailing his meeting - He'll miss a week
Gote Nordvall (Hull Angels) - Withdrew after being shaken up in a crash with the air fence at Canvey Island - ok next meeting
Steve Conway (Bottesford Bullets) - The 16 year old Bullet damaged ankle ligaments in a Heat 4 spill - Out for 3 weeks
Boguslaw Kryznowek (Milton Keynes Cats) - the free scoring Pole withdrew with a thigh injury that will see him miss 2 weeks
That's yer lot this week
