Despite a few hiccups, the STONE CROSS STARS are now ready for action and can't wait to get going. Local council officers have turned down planning permission for my sponsors lounge, despite it being almost complete. The centre green and general appearance of the stadium is now in excellent condition and a real feather in the cap for the organisers. The food outlets and bar have also been brought up to an excellent standard, with top class food and a fully stocked bar with comfortable seating and a great view of the track. The clubs website is on show but not completed but will soon become a hive of information for STARS fans. The club had a great response from the school visits, with entry already free for kids up to 14 years old they were also issued with a voucher for a free bag of sweets and the mascot for the opening challenge match with Hailsham was chosen. The lucky junior fan was R Swipe, he will meet the riders, join them on parade and then watch the meeting from the scaffolding platform on the first bend with his family. Guest of honour for the opening meeting will be the vicar from the church next door, the Rev Neertogod and the landlord of the Red Lion Mr D R Inkypoos.
