Week 1
EL – 965 bundled into the Barrack Boulevard to watch Aldershot Apaches take to league speedway for their first home match - though the home fans will have left disappointed as the visiting Denham Dragons took the spoils after a solid start which saw the visitors claim a string of 2-4's, leading by 6 points after 5 heats. Aldershot rallied to close it to 2 points after Heat 14 but a 1-5 for the impressive Brad Bouchard and Kim Knutsson ensured the Buckinghamshire outfit take the spoils home.
PL – 1537 folks felt their way into The Factory as hosts Birmingham and visitors Blunsden shared the spoils. The travelling Bombers fans were in full cry as their team raced into a 10-20 lead after 5 heats, but a concerted effort by the Chocolatiers gave them a richly deserved draw, though they will be disappointed with a share of things as they fancied a rich and dark victory.
UL – 2341 witnessed grit flying at the Grovedale. A cracking meeting which witnessed MK cats and Wantage Kings playing out an enthralling and highly entertaining draw. After 7 races the Kings were flying high and leading by 8 pts but three back to back race wins by the Cats levelled it up at 30-30. A penultimate heat MKC 4-2 from Hans Bergastol and impressive reserve Riley Payne set the hosts up for the win, but but bang in form King, Kenni Algreen pipped the Big Pole Kryznowek and Jamie Vaughan grabbed a third place point to see Wantage claim a deserved draw.
AWAYS
Aldershot Apaches 42 Denham Dragons 48 - An impressive six point away for the Bucks Fizzers left the Apaches pointless at the foot of the table as the Dragons singed their hosts head dresses
Wolston Warriors 42 Aberavon Gems 46 - The loss of Boris Kravchuk didn't dent the Gems charge to the top of the table, taking a well earned win on the road for the Welshmen.
Maximums
Teodor Patocka - (Lanarkshire Lions) 15 (5) - The Scots' new boy continued to impress with a big one as the Lions ran the hosting Kings Lynn side close
Brett Harkins - (Leyton Rockets) 15 (5) - Harkins honed his talents in a comfortable home victory for the Rockets
Ryan Roy (Richmond Cheetahs) 14+1 (5) - A paid winning one for RR as the Cheetahs downed the Renegades
Petr Marko (Bottesford Bullets) - 15 (5) - Marko czeched in again as the Bullets convincingly beat new boys Necrons
Injuries
Mohamed Agoume - (Denham Dragons) - The 16 yr old Frenchman lacerated his ankle in a nasty spill and came off second best with the footrest - misses 1 week
Shaun Brooks - (East London Renegades) - Another teen takes a tumble - badly shaken - misses 1 week
Boris Kravchuk - (Aberavon Gems) - Big Boris took an unlikely spill - heavy concussion will see him miss 3 weeks
