STOP PRESS
Despite recent rumours, newly promoted Maidstone Knights will be taking their place in this season's Evolution League after Messrs Foster and Meech stepped in to end the speculation. When asked Terry Meech was quoted as saying that it was a chance not to be missed to have a stake in a second Speedway outlet in Kent and he would like to thank the Knights sponsers, JD Surfacing, for their help with the arrangements for the takeover to go smoothly.
The team had already been assembled and one of the new arrivals,, Lee Nobles,, was overjoyed by the outcome as Terry Meech had been his manger for the Rest of the World U21 Test Matches and they had gotten on well.
The joint management team have wasted no time since their arrival and have improved both the Track shop and Food outlets in time for the visit of the Estuary whales in a Challenge Match fixture. They have already had a get together with the team and the supporters club and as a result of this all of them are looking forward to the new season and new challenges.
All the latest news, views and results from the Maidstone Knights will be available on this thread.

KNIGHTS UP FOR THE CUP After a disappointing couple matches in Round 2 of the Pre-Season Challenge Matches the Maidstone management to the squad of for a break and training on the track at Lunner just outside Oslo which is similar to the track at Iwade, no I don't mean it's covered in snow!, where the Knights have to visit in the K.O.Cup. All the squad were present including Lee Jessup who is looking for a team and hopefully may get a place in the European League and there were some scouts present on the training days and a few spitfires jackets were spotted! The Knights Juvenile Jaunter, Boyd Beaton, was also on show.

FRIGHT KNIGHTS!
The Spitfires fans must have been fairly happy after the 1st leg of their K.O.Cup clash with local rivals, Maidstone, as they travelled the 13 mlies back down the A249 to Iwade. The knights seemed to be heading for a comfortable victory after a 5-1 in Heat 9 had put them 6 points clear, but three 2-4s from the next 6 heats left the sides level. However, to the delight of the Home fans in the nearly sell-out crowd Chris Mullarkey and Viv Thompson produced a great time-ride for a 5-1 and a point lead for Maidstone to take to Iwade.
The Iwade stadium was virtually full as the teams shared 3-3s in all of the first 4 heats! From then on the visitors seemed to slowly take control of the tie and by heat 11 had a 6 point lead and victory seemed to be a possibility. However, the Spitfires began to rally and by the final heat they needed a 5-1 to force a race-off! The Home fans went made as Roco Facundu made the start but they went quiet when Maidstone's starman , Viv Thompson, went under Iwade's starman, Milan Stajner on the 3rd bend and held on to send the Knights into the next round.
Maidstone's joint manager, Terry Meech, was over the Moon with his team's performance and hinted that the Medway Arena's capacity may be increased later in the season after seeing the number of fans turning out for this advertisement for Speedway!

DOORS WIDENED?
There's a strong rumour circulating that the front Doors at the Medway Arena have been widened to accommodate the two managers after they were awarded the Manager of the Week
Co-Manager said that it was all down to the riders great efforts in training to force a win in their fist away meeting of the season and the main thing now is to continue that form at Home.
