Week 19
EL – 1122 jostled away at the Jayar Arena where the hosting Stowmarket Scorpions put in a fine display despatching the visiting Estuary Whales 51-39. The 12 point win also concluded with an added BP as Eddie Mabo remained unbeaten by an opponent all evening as he added to his pad max by beating Estuary's Theo Craven in a run off after the team were tied on aggregate at 90 all. The Scorpions scored well throughout the team whilst the Whales relied heavily on Craven and young reserve Toby Squires, who grabbed 8+3.
PL – 1615 gathered at the Glaven Arena to see KIngs Lynn Lightning beat the travelling Newmarket Raiders 49-41 (92-88). Robert Murphy continued to be a revelation at reserve for the Lightning scoring 12+1 and in doing so helped the Norfolk racers to a win over the Raiders, who put in a valiant effort. Newmarket led 3-9 after an impressive opening couple of heats for the visitors. Frankie Young took the win in the opener, whilst Ibrahim Mersel and Tommy Barnes combined to produce a maximum 1-5 in the reserves' race. Lynn hit back with some powerful racing in Heat 12,13 and 14 to take the spoils. Newmarket's spirited efforts belied their position at the foot of the Power League.
UL – 2286 mooched up to the Meadows Raceway, where hosts Wolston put on a real show to defeat the visiting Milton Keynes Cats 52-36 (92-88). The Cats had their claws well and truly clipped as Wolston romped to an 18 point win. Nick Swat (11+3) and Alex Golden (13+1) were the pick of the Warriors' crop whilst the Cats just didn't have the ability to outgun their hosts. Wolston provide twice as many race winners as MKC and ran up half as many last places in the big win.
