My version of objection
Rye House has been a motorsport venue for all of my life, I have so many fond memories of exciting days there.
Yes speedway is declining and go karting has had a new lease of life, greyhound racing was always well supported.
It would be far better for the sport and its spectators if the current owners became more involved in giving speedway a much needed kiss of life, than pushing the sport to extinction.
Local authorities have shown a distain for grass roots football, by building on sports grounds for years now, relying on the likes of private investor's to add these facilities to their projects to fill the void.
For us to lose such a venue would be a real wrench as the local area has no current tracks for fans to watch our beloved sport, currently drives to East Anglia, Sussex or the Midlands is the best on offer, so no wonder the sport is in decline, plus the fact at some clubs promotors only took out, but over the years Rye House has always been a work in progress, improving it year on year, it does sound like the club is owned by those with ulterior motives.
