"Interesting, but I won't be taking too much notice of it"
Braves boss Mike Auffret seemed in a contemplative mood when discussing the Braves aggregate loss to Abertillery.
"To be honest, it was all about the track time, and a couple of our lads had up and down performances to say the least! Nurasyl is going to need some time to develop in British speedway, but he was easily the best rider on show in the away leg, notching 14 points, which he then followed up with 2 at home. It was the first time he had seen both tracks, so while it gives me a bit of encouragement, it is also a worry when it happens! Craig showed why he should have had a team place all last season, scoring 11 at home and paid 7 away, and really everyone chipped in. Scott at reserve is going to be a bit of a bonus, as his scores showed. He is much better than a reserve rider, and he will bang in some fantastic scores at the start of the season.
Overall, I was disappointed not to win over the 2 legs, but the track time was the main thing to worry about, and I saw plenty of room for optimism."
