The Wizards and Jets served up two great matches in their Capital Cup Challenge Matches, which saw both teams share the trophy with 90 points apiece.
LEG 1 WESTWOOD
The Wizards first meeting didn't get off to a great start as the Jets pairing secured a 4-2 in the 1st heat of the night and they kept that lead till heat 8 where another 4-2 saw the visitors extened their advantage to 4 points. Altough the Home side struck back in the following heat it wasn't until Heat 12 that the Wizards got their act together which saw some great team riding from Linus Cedergren and reserve Donnie Reeves which produced a first ever Westwood 5-1 and a further maximum heat score in the final race saw the Wizards 6 point victory.
Linus Cedergren and Johnny Calder were the stars for the Wizards, whilst Vaclav Cervenka was in great form for the Jets.
LEG 2 LONDON
The Jets were once again the fastest team out of the traps with a 5-1 which reduced the overall lead to only two points and by the time Heat 9 came along London had an 8 point lead on the night , which meant they were in front overall and the Cup looked as though it would be in the Starbug Stadium Trophy Cabinet!. However as in the first leg the visitors got their act together in heats 11 and 12 to reduce the deficit to 2 points. With the Home pairing of Vaclav Cervenka and Chad Wilkin roaring fro the gate to produce a 5-1 in heat 14 the Cup was up for grabs in the final race. Westwood star rider of the night, Glen Harmiison(12 piad 14) made the start and with the Jets, Vaclav Cervenka and Scott Allen unable to get near him the points were shared and so was the Trophy.
If the rest of the season's racing is as good as this the fans are in for a great time!
Scott Allen and Vaclav Cervenka had great nights for the Jets and as already stated Glen harmison was on fire for the Wizrads!
