The Glynogwr Wasps have gained promotion to the PL after two years in existence. Following negotiations with Mike, Davie and Kyastas we are pleased to inform you that they are staying with us in the PL this season. The club has also agreed to asset Owen Mackey returning as the number 1. They have travelled down the M4 to west Wales to secure loan deals for Aberavon Club Captain Carsten Ostenstad a proven heat leader in both UL & PL along with Laurie Campbell who did well in the UL at reserve. The finally piece of the jigsaw is John Bowen the club have signed him on a full from SIM database of riders. Everyone is working hard in preparation for the new season in the PL, the club would like to thank all the volunteers who have helped in getting everything done ready around the stadium for the new venture.

Well pre-season is over and the Wasps can feel satisfied with the step up in league racing and quality of riders, the team won 5 out of the 6 meetings gaining valuable experience and knowledge of the competition.
The team has settled together and Owen Mackey has slotted into the number 1 role well. When Owen joined the Wasps very first season from New Zealand he found it tough going with everything happening so fast, two seasons on and he now looks a number one. Mike Van Arsden has started solidly as we would expect.

Week 4 away at Aldershot and the Wasps gained their first win in the league, 42-48 Wasps scores:
GLYNOGWR WASPS 48 1. Owen Mackey............... 2 3 3 1 3 - 12 2. Laurie Campbell........... 1* 0 1 1 - - 3+1 3. Davie Langfield........... 0 2 1* 2 - - 5+1 4. Carsten Ostenstad......... 2 1* 2 3 0 - 8+1 5. Mike Van Arsden........... 3 2 3 0 - - 8 6. Kyastas Girutsky.......... 1 1* 0 - - - 2+1 7. John Bowen................ 3 1 3 1* 2* - 10+2
Owen Mackey again leading from the front and reserve John Bowen 10+2. Carsten Ostenstad had a better meeting riding at 4 but Davie Langfield then struggled at 3. Third heat leader role is becoming an issue for the wasps. Coach said afterwards it was a morale boosting win and even more satisfying riding away, hopefully the lads will build on this going forward.

The Wasps have gone into the rest week and GSA change with a couple of wins now and getting use to the uplift in skill and racing in the PL. But saying that the 2 most experienced people Mike Van Arsden and on loan former Aberavon captain Carsten Ostengard have struggled badly and sadly been let go we wish both riders all the best in whatever they decide to do in the future. Owen Mackey back with the club is flying and has upped is avg to 9.42. Davie Langfield and Kyastas Girutsky have both also upped their averages and Laurie Campbell has slipped a bit will be a good reserve at this level, John Bowen has kept his.
So what have the Wasps to to improve hopefully the side, they have signed on a full transfer the Anglo Dutch rider Josh Montsach on 8.26 average and will give great support at the top end to Mackey the second signing on loan is Marko Mujanovic to bolster the middle order. The Wasps sit 7th and have already won away this season so they hope the changes will continue to improve the sides performances as they establish themselves in the PL.
