Burslem took a 91-89 aggregate win against new boys Halisham in the second round of pre season fixtures.
"Honestly, I thought we should have won by more in the home leg. We won 12 of the 15 races, but had more last places, which cost us a bigger lead. I know that riders were trying different set ups, so I'm not angry, I just know that a performance like that in the league would cause me to believe that we had missed an opportunity.
From a performance perspective, I was really impressed by Nurasyl again. Halisham have some good heat leaders, and he dealt with them like a veteran, which was impressive to see. I honestly believe that with him looking like he does, being backed up by Mike and Bradley, we have a top 3 who can go out and dominate meetings, which takes the pressure off the other riders. Craig chipped in with 6 in each meeting, and in general, the lower order looked to be getting quicker with each meeting.
Honestly, I believe that we have a chance of something special this season. We are putting the hard work in now, but I truly think we have a chance"
Braves averages after 2 pre-season meetings Nurasyl Ibrayev- 8.21 (+0.21) Craig Gooderham - 7.06 (+1.04) Steve Bechet - 5.00 (0.11) Mike Van Arsden - 7.33 (+0.68) Bradley Foster - 8.75 (+1.74) Maxie North - 3.06 (-1.64) Scott Calder - 6.50 (+1.61)
