PS 2
THE GROVEDALE
This meeting was the 1st leg of the PS away against the Cats, the Gunners coming off a good start of the PS meetings.
Heat 3 saw Tony Clipstone come to a slow stop when leading which allowed Woodcroft to pick up the lead and with Bracey falling it was a 3-2.
Heat 4 with Hodge and Krzynowek who was covering the youngster for 4 laps put the Gunners into the lead 8-15
By the time heat 14 finished it looked as if the Gunners were going to get the away win.
A certain 5-1 was on the books before the start of ht15, and as they say “it’s a funny old game” when Woodcroft fell and was excluded it was up to Pat Landis to finish the job which he did and the gunners came away with a 40-49 away win
2nd leg
At home, the Gunners were very condfent of doing the double over the cats, it was a close forght meeting no team wanted to give anything away
Up to ht 9 it was all fair game then it started to fall away for the gunners, but when the cats scored a 1-5 in Ht 13 that placed them in a good postion. And with a 3-3 in Ht 14 and a 1-5 in Ht 15 the cats won the meeting 40-50.
