In what is probably a surprise to many given the oft-commented size of fees paid by the Cats last season, it appears that MK boss Sean Wood has tightened the purse strings this season "It almost looks like we've been stingy this year, but it's not even something we set out to do, we've made our offers to riders on a rider by rider basis, making offers we feel were sufficient to sign the riders we wish, and it ends up we've paid just a third of the fees of some teams in our league. we've spent less than most of the Academy League, and to be frank, we've put together a hell of a team"
With surprisingly minimal spending on the team-building that left plenty in the coffers "We could have just left it there in the bank and saved it for a rainy day, but we've put it to good use instead, and we've made further upgrades to The Grovedale. It was already a pretty good stadium, the track is exemplary, always beautifully lit and prepared, with our upgrades I believe it's getting to the point where it's one of the best in the country. We've improved the changing rooms, pits, medical room and ambulance. With the quality of our surface and it's lighting, coupled with the air fence, it's an incredibly safe track, and now even if the worse were to happen, you're truly in one of the best places. The riders truly appreciate the effort."

At most tracks, the "Worst to happen" is falling off and hitting the fence.
At Milton Keynes, it's signing a contract, because you know you'll be signing on a couple of weeks later!
