Workington 45-45 Lanarkshire
A good start to the season, as despite falls and retirements, Workington avoided defeat. Duggan and Laidlaw wiped out on the first bend of their first race and Billy wasn't seen again. Fortunately checks at hospital showed nothing permanently broken. Black scored a full maximum and Lions had Wood and Isaksen on good form to give a good work out and a sense of optimism for the home fans.
Lanarkshire 44-46 Workington
All the team was great from the start and this made things a little easier as the visitors caught the home side cold and stole victory. Reay and Black scored 12 a piece and linked up in Heat 13 for a 5-1 that meant they only needed a share of the spoils in the final race for a rare away win.
Workington 49-41 Teeside
Willemsen and Laidlaw win their first races for Logheads. Reay and Petkovic looking an explosive pairing and the home side win at a canter, but things would have been closer had Teeside used tacticals.
Teeside 50-40 Workington
Reay had an off night for Logheads trying some new parts and Transporters put in a very solid performance. Things were close after 11 races, but apart from a Laidlaw victory in Heat 14, the home side steamrollered home for the win.

TUNSTALL 51 - 39 WORKINGTON
The visitors were slow out of the blocks and the home side may hay while they could, 20 points after 7 heats. A reproach at the interval and a better second half showing. Thankfully this was only a friendly, but is the Logheads tail a little short of firepower?
WORKINGTON 43 - 46 TUNSTALL
The home side were always in this match, but a Heat 10 collision between Reay and Petkovic saw the home side 0-5 reverse and Tunstall did enough to hang on to the win. Laidlaw was the home fans man of the match with a tenacious 6 points.

Rocky has had his two coaching sessions with the NSSPA coaches. "I've always tried to be at Workington's home matches and pick up stuff from Liam and Mark. TO have the official guys with one to one training was brilliant and Mark turned up to help (take the mickey). If I work hard over the winter, next season could see a breakthrough."
