London Jets ended their pre season programme with a heavy away defeat at Stone Cross Stars (51-39) and a good home win against the same opponents (49-41) amounting in an aggregate loss of 92-88. In what was Baylee's first official meeting in charge, the changes made in the riding order did not help the team as they ran in 10 last places away from home. Baylee said, " We need to re-act quicker as the track changes during the meeting. 10 last places is always going to be a struggle for us. Scott (10) and Vaclav (9+1) fought to the end but there was not a lot of support from the rest of the lads..." In the home meeting, Scott Allen (14) was well supported by Vaclav Cervenka (11) and Tom Hennesy (paid 9) and the reserves scored solidly too, both above their averages. Baylee said afterwards, "It was a bit of a confidence booster and everyone apart from Jamie Airey had a race win which was good. I am going to try and make us more solid away from home, and we will be having a team meeting early next week to discuss where we can improve. It is different for the boys to have a different voice in the dressing room, but its one that has to have positive effects on the lads, and if we start badly, we must continue to take the fight forward as a team and fight for every point. Keeping the scores tight help second half of the season when bonus points are on offer.....Stone Cross look a tidy oufit, but we will be looking to start the season with a home win and put some points on the board early doors, hopefully with a big home crowd behind us."
