Ashley's somewhat disappointing season comes to an end soon with the Iwade youngster looking to finish on a high on his home track.
The last few rounds have seen the Welshman keep a low profile as he tried to focus on the business of picking up points. His pattern of inconsistency continued as he struggled to pick up big points but did manage to take a heat win in each round.
Before the last round at his home track, Ashley took a look back at his season.
"It's been a hard season that's for sure. It was a big move to make joining Iwade as it wasn't exactly on my doorstep, so I had to rely on plenty of support from my family and from the bosses family who have all been great to me. I got off to a dodgy start and that played on my mind, so I had to put a lot of work in, which I didn't mind as I like to try and improve my game. I did a lot of training at Iwade with the team and also went away to work with the NSSPA coaches which was tidy. I went from feeling low to having a high when it felt I had upped my game and then back to low again when it went wrong. Since then, I've just tried to get on with it and ride my way through it, whilst trying some stuff out with different equipment. The good thing has been the support I've had as I've not felt pressured which has been a big help. I would like to finish on a high and hopefully give the Spitfires fans something to cheer."
