New topping whale meat
Newmarket raiders started the League campaign with an away trip to Estuary Whales having had a mixed set of results in pre-season the Mafiosi pizza Raiders claimed a last heat victory in what can only be described as nerve racking Jamie Morton won heat 1 and the raiders raced into an 8 point lead after 4 heats next 5 heats saw the Whales hit back with four 5-1 and a 4-2 to force their way into a 10 point lead and looking good for the win, heat 10 saw the Raiders fight back a 4-2 from Conda and Kerekes was followed two 5-1 to level the scores.
With both teams recording 5-1 in the next 2 heats and the scores level it was down to the last heat decider and what a last heat with riders given their all Conda just got the edge to the first bend ahead of the others with Morton hanging on for 3rd and claim the win for the Mafiosi Pizza Raiders.

More Water under the Bridge
Mafiosi Pizza Raiders welcomed the Tilbury Dockers to the Raiders Dome for the first home meeting of the season looking to continue their winning ways. A fine all round team performance lead by Jamie Morton saw the Raiders gain a 48-41 win, Although Dockers number one showed a liking to the dome recording a 16 point haul, with the first 2 heats shared heat 3 saw the Dockers record a 4-2 only for the Raiders to hit back in the next heat with a 5-1 by heat 7 the Raiders had opened up a 6 point lead which they never looked back from.

Raiders top the division
WEEK 3 REPORT The Mafiosi Pizza Raiders recorded their 3rd win of the season in the league to keep up their 100% record with a convincing victory 51-39 against Sheffield Dons. Captain Conda once again lead from the front and was given good support from Kerekes, Morton and Hoskins while Goycochea, Caffrey and Harrison all showed improvement. Mafioso pizza raiders took a break from league action to compete against Sheffield Dons in the quarter finals of the Knock out cup with the first leg away at the home of Sheffield it was hoped to keep the score close to give the raiders a fighting chance in the second leg at the dome with the first two heats shared and the Dons provided the first four heat winners heat five saw Raiders record their first heat win and heat advantage, with two five -ones Sheffield opened up an eight point lead two four - twos and a five - one to the Mafiioso PIzza raiders ensured that with two heats remaining the score was level but two five - ones to Sheffield saw the meeting end 49-41

Mafioso pizza raiders returned to the dome to take on the Dons and win by a bigger margin than 8 points having beaten the Dons the previous week convincingly by more the Raiders look to have one foot in the semi finals yet credit to the Dons who kept the meeting level till heat 10 heat 11 saw the raiders open up a 2 point lead and with 3 heats left it looked like the raiders had underestermated the Dons raiders top two of Conda and Morton claimed the first 5-1 to open up a 6point lead a 4-2 from Hoskins and Goycochea the scores over both meetings was level and it was one down to the top two scorers form both teams and all to play for Conda roared from the tapes and it looked like a run off would be needed then lap two saw Kerekes pass Payne on the 3rd bend and set after Szymkowiak when he caught and passed him on the last bend on the last lap the crowd went mad.up next is a semi final meeting with EStuary Whales. 1. WEEK 5
The Mafioso pizza Raiders traveled to pine ridge to take on the Southside Oglala in the league a crash in heat one between Southsides MacDonald and the raiders Morton saw Morton taken to hospital and withdrawn from the meeting which then put the raiders on the back foot with Caffrey,Conda and Kerekes offering any resistance the raiders lost 49-40. Team manager Terry Rigby confirmed the worst with the news that Jamie Morton had broken his jaw and will be out for 8 weeks we have already started to look for a guest rider for next weeks meeting and hope to have more news on this at a later date. 1.
