A decent size crowd watched the Racers kick off the new season very well. The Racers took a total of 11 heat wins in the match and looked solid all match.
" It was a good start for us Bletchley had Matula who was only our rider upto a month ago and the knowledge that he passed onto his new team before the meeting I thought we could be in trouble, but the boys were too strong and im extremely proud that the riders and fans left happy tonight. Antoni was superb and was backed by Rupel and Buri. Brad is still learning at reserve and with 5 + 1 he left happy. Sam was the only rider who failed to score but its early days and we will give him extra track practice before Estuary next week." Spoke Chief Steve Mitchell

Whales V Racers
This week we visit the Megano, a place we all know well. The club will be running the normal coaches to the stadium and are happy to announce that they are 95% full already.
This year they are led by the experienced Axentiff with back up from Malenkov Jr & number 1 Pawel Prusaczyk.
Having lost at home in the opening week they are sure to be up for this match more than ever before.
" I love our matches against Estuary and I know the fans do too. The riders have been talking about this fixture since is was announced, it really is a stand out fixture on the calendar. Fred & Wayne are great hosts I just hope they are still as welcoming after we win the match! They lost last week and so the nerves will be high, a great time to hit them hard. They will be running R/R but are strong at reserve so we will have to be on fire to secure anything from the match, our heat leaders will be key." Spoke Chief Steve Mitchell.

The short trip over to Essex ended in disappointment for the Racers as they lost by 8 points to a steady looking Estuary team. A large Rye crowd travelled to the Megano but left disappointed in the result.
" We just wernt getting out the gate all night, the riders changed set ups but the Whales were on top form tonight. Even with R/R they looked like no one would beat them. For us Bialczak led by example Rupel and Buri put a decent shift in, the other boys know they need to start upping there performances, this is going to be a tough league and we don't have time to waste, the boys need to up there game. I would like to thank Fred for his hospitality today and congratulate the Whales on the deserved victory."Spoke Chief Steve Mitchell.

A very disappointing night for the Racers saw Southside claim there first points of the season. Southside were in complete control all night and Racers chief and coach Martin Williams voiced there concern after the match.
" This is not an easy result to take, we came here and it looks like the riders under estimated what they were up against, a little unprofessional and the boys have been told exactly what I think of this performance. The boys need to sort there attitudes out for next week, we have a huge KO Cup fixture and the fans are desperate to progress. I will be making riding order changes as a few of the boys are not performing in the jackets they currently have, if this does not work I will happily look to sign new riders who will perform for me and the club."
