In a tough opening away fixture at highly fancied Charlemont, the Young's Motors Bullets slipped to an 8 point defeat losing 49-41 after twice coming back into the meeting. In fact a last heat 5-1 would have given the Bullets a share of the spoils and a hugely profitable points reward, however a home 5-1 gave Charlemont a more than flattering victory them they deserved. What the hosts did have was two Bona Fide Heat leaders scoring tall, as Neil Johnston and Chris Williams scored impressivel. For the bullets Martin Greer continued his impressive start to the season to score 13, whilst the equally impressive Lewie Carr bagged paid 10 from the reserve berth. Manager Paul Duff though refused to single anyone out " I'm A big believer in winning and losing as a team, speedway is primarily as even man team sport and I'm genuinely proud of all of the lads tonight, 1-7 they all contributed and we were a little unluvjnot to take something home. Zoltan started well before hitting a couple of low scores, but he's young and learning fast, Will Stone was part of a big 5-1 to get subs I into the match, Carts needs a bit of luck and e scores will come, Hamish is a bit up and down but is settling in and has contributed massively so far, Martin Greer is on fire at the moment-and the reserves are really doing well, Luke Patryk is a top lad and developing nicely whilst Lewie is already knocking on the door for a top five spot, the reserves are very important to me they can really make or break the team, if either scores well then others can change places to freshen things up" Certainly a loss, but maybe a morale victory !
